The Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, in cooperation with the Kosovo Electricity Distribution and Supply Company (KEDS), installed a platform for a stork nest in the village of Lloshkobare, in the Municipality of Ferizaj.
The platform was installed near a dead tree where the stork had been nesting for many years.
This activity is a continuation of the installation of platforms with stork nests on several electricity poles at different locations in the Municipality of Kaçanik.
The installation of such nesting platforms, prepared by KEDS following the instructions and recommendations of IKNM, is a practice implemented in many European countries as well as in the region.
One of the objectives of this activity, in addition to creating conditions for the protection of this rare species of our fauna, is also to promote a positive example of protecting the white stork and its habitat.
