As part of the UNDP project “Establishing the MRVA System in Kosovo: Legal, Technical and Institutional Support”, institutional training on Monitoring, Reporting, Verification and Accreditation (MRVA) is being conducted to support the establishment and future implementation of this system in Kosovo.
The training brings together representatives of key institutions responsible for climate policies and environmental protection, including the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning (MESP), the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA), the Ministry of Economy, and the Kosovo Accreditation Directorate (KAD), as well as operators and installations that may be subject to future MRVA system requirements.
The training covers:
The training also includes practical examples, guided exercises, templates and checklists tailored to the Kosovo context, enabling participants to develop the knowledge and capacities required for the future implementation of the MRVA system.
The training is being delivered with the support of EKONERG’s legal, institutional and technical experts, in cooperation with UNDP.
This activity represents an important step in strengthening Kosovo’s institutional and technical capacities for monitoring, reporting and verifying greenhouse gas emissions, as well as in preparing the necessary framework for operationalizing the MRVA system.
The Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency will play an important role in implementing the requirements of the MRVA system in Kosovo.
