The Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, including the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo, is part of the Air Quality Programme for the Western Balkan Countries. Today, the first information meeting was held between representatives of the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, representatives of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), and representatives of the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SHMI).
The aim of the programme is to strengthen regional dialogue on air quality, support countries in developing instruments to identify sources of pollution at the local level (air emission inventory), and enable easier access to air quality data through air quality information portals.
The implementation of this programme is carried out by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SHMI), and UNICEF, in partnership with the environmental institutions of the Western Balkan countries, with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
