As part of its 2022 work plan, the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, in addition to other activities, continued monitoring wildlife using camera traps. Particular emphasis was placed on camera-trap monitoring carried out in the territories of the two national parks, “Sharri” and “Bjeshkët e Nemuna”.
As part of the monitoring conducted in specific areas within “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park, in cooperation with the “ERA” organization from Peja, information and photographs were collected confirming the presence of important wildlife species, including the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx), brown bear (Ursus arctos), chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra), roe deer (Capreolus capreolus), and others, as well as information on their status.
