The “NaturKosovo” project supports the development and promotion of the “Via Dinarica” hiking trails in the territory of “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park.
The “Via Dinarica” hiking trails project will contribute to the development of the tourism sector along the route of the trail within “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park, in the three municipalities of Peja, Deçan and Junik.
Work has already begun on the consolidation and maintenance of the “Via Dinarica” trail. Prior to this, the necessary research and studies were carried out to implement the relevant activities.
The project will also include the distribution of grants to tourism service providers in the project’s area of intervention along the “Via Dinarica” trail. A fund of EUR 360,000 will be available to support activities related to the promotion of the trail, hospitality, accommodation, catering, and the promotion of local products.
The hiking trail in “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park is part of the “Via Dinarica” network, which, in addition to Kosovo, extends across seven other countries: Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. The aim of the trail is to enable the connection of regional communities and regional cooperation through the development of ecotourism.
The “NaturKosovo” project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy in Pristina.
