7 November 2025

Kosovo representatives, Përparim Gashi from the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency and Rizah Murseli from the Institute for Spatial Planning, as members of the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET), are participating in the Joint Meeting of the EIONET Land Systems Group and the Copernicus Thematic Group, held in Copenhagen, Denmark, and organized by the European Environment Agency (EEA).

During the two-day meeting, representatives from EIONET member countries and the Copernicus community are discussing the latest developments in land monitoring, environmental policy reporting, and the implementation of national cooperation programmes.

Key topics addressed include “Urban Green”, “Land Take & Soil Monitoring”, as well as updates on CORINE Land Cover 2024 and Copernicus 3.0.

The meeting also marked the 35th anniversary of CORINE Land Cover, one of the most important programmes for assessing land-use changes at the European level.

Kosovo’s participation in this meeting represents an important step towards strengthening cooperation with the EEA and the EIONET network, as well as further integrating our national land monitoring system with European standards.
