Under the motto “Mountains, a Place to Breathe”, the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure marked International Mountain Day.
The activity aimed to highlight the importance of mountains for life on Earth, drinking water, air, food, biodiversity, and the climate, while calling for their protection for future generations.
As part of the activity, a symbolic hike was organized through the Prevallë forests in Sharri National Park, accompanied by mountain guides, along with a roundtable discussion on the importance of mountains for the environment and health.
In the afternoon, a consultation meeting was also held on cross-border cooperation between Kosovo and North Macedonia, within the framework of the partnership and the KEPA–SwEPA project “Capacity Building for Nature Protection and the Use of Environmental Data”.
On this occasion, MESPPI donated a Smart Urban Furniture unit and an Eco-Bench to Save the Children Kosovo.
The activity was organized in cooperation with the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, Save the Children Kosovo, and representatives of civil society and partner organizations.
