The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Fitore Pacolli-Dalipi, has issued a decision banning all unauthorized construction activities within Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park and Sharri National Park.
The decision also prohibits the entry, transportation, and movement within the territory of the National Parks of all transport vehicles carrying any type of construction material, heavy-duty work equipment, and construction machinery without a permit or special authorization issued by the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
In order to prevent damage, the authorities responsible for implementing the decision are authorized to stop and temporarily seize vehicles, equipment, and materials attempting to enter the park without authorization.
The provisions of the decision also foresee the filing of criminal charges with the relevant prosecution offices against the respective entities for the criminal offence of “unauthorized construction”, in accordance with the Criminal Code of Kosovo.
For the implementation of the decision, control points will be established at the entrances to the National Parks. These will be managed by the National Park Directorates with the continuous support of the Kosovo Police and the Central Inspectorate, for the purpose of conducting inspections and seizing vehicles, equipment, and materials.
