The workshop aimed to encourage strategic contributions from key institutions in order to guide the development of a new project focused on biodiversity and protected areas in Kosovo.
This initiative, funded by the European Union under the IPA III instrument and implemented by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and SIDA, aims to support public administrations in nature conservation, the establishment of the Natura 2000 network, and the sustainable management of National Parks.
Representatives of relevant institutions, including the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency with the Park Directorates and the Institute for Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, as well as the Kosovo Forest Agency, provided contributions that are essential to this process.
Through plenary sessions and working group discussions, participants exchanged ideas, provided suggestions, raised concerns, and identified potential synergies to help define the key actions of the project.
This activity was organised within the framework of the cooperation project between KEPA and SEPA, with the participation and support of representatives from SIDA, the EU Office in Kosovo, and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood – DG ENEST.
