The Directorate for the Management of Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park, within the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, carried out a waste clean-up action in several areas of the park, contributing to the preservation of the natural environment and improving the quality of areas frequented by visitors.
This action was carried out within the framework of the project “Shaping the Future of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna Region”, implemented by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency and the Directorate of Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park, in cooperation with CNVP and NACCON, with financial support from the German Federal Environmental Foundation (DBU). The activity aims to contribute to nature protection, biodiversity conservation, and the promotion of sustainable environmental practices in the Bjeshkët e Nemuna region.
This activity is part of ongoing efforts to protect the ecosystem, ensure sustainable waste management, and promote civic responsibility towards nature. Through this action, significant quantities of waste were removed from various areas of the park, directly contributing to biodiversity conservation and improving the appearance of the environment.
Keeping Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park clean remains a shared responsibility. Therefore, we call on all visitors, local communities, and nature lovers to contribute to the protection of this valuable natural heritage. Such actions not only help protect the park’s flora and fauna but also create better conditions for the development of sustainable tourism and recreational activities.
The Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency and the Directorate of Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park will continue to organise similar activities in the future, with the aim of raising public awareness and ensuring the long-term preservation of the natural values that make this park one of the most important protected areas in Kosovo.
