The Minister of MMPHI, Mr. Liburn Aliu, has made a decision to approve the Management Plan for the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park. The Management Plan covers the period 2024-2033 and obliges all natural and legal persons, during the exercise of activities and operations within the territory of the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park, to comply with the provisions of this plan.
The process of drafting the Management Plan for the “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” National Park was carried out within the framework of the component “Strengthening the management of cross-border natural areas,” as part of the cooperation project between the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA) and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).
During the drafting of the Management Plan for the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park, both international and local experts were engaged, while officials from MMPHI, AMMK, the Directorates of National Parks, Municipalities, NGOs, and other relevant institutions were also involved in the drafting process. The aim of the plan is to determine the main development orientations and priorities related to the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park for the next 10 years, based on the specific legal, environmental, and socio-economic context. The plan will be implemented according to the annual program for the protection, conservation, utilization, and development of the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park and in accordance with the current legislation on nature protection.
