Following warnings from local residents and non-governmental organizations involved in bird monitoring, regarding the critical condition of a stork (Ciconia ciconia) in the village of Babimost in the Municipality of Obiliq, officials from AMMK/Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection went to the site, verified the accuracy of the information, found the stork, and, after communications with the Veterinary and Food Agency, sent it to the center for the treatment and rehabilitation of wild animals “Bear Forest” in Badovc, Prishtina.

In the Bears' Forest, specifically by the veterinarian contracted by the Veterinary Ordinance “Diognosa VET,” the stork received the appropriate treatment from the veterinarian, and after its condition improved, it was released back into its habitat, specifically into its nursery in the village of Babimoc, where four other stork individuals were also identified.

AMMK/Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, as the central institution responsible for the protection of biodiversity, including wild bird species, expresses gratitude to all non-governmental organizations and the local community for their cooperation and commitment to the care and preservation of our wildlife species.
