The basic data flows of EIONET for the year 2023 - Kosovo fulfills 100% of the obligations

18 October 2024

The European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET) has carried out the assessment of compliance with reporting obligations for the year 2023. Kosovo, together with 3 other countries – Austria, North Macedonia, and Poland – managed to fulfill 100% of the reporting obligations within the framework of the basic data flows for the year 2023.

Eleven other countries (Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden) managed to fulfill the reporting obligations at a level of 90% or higher.

As part of the assessment for this period, Kosovo received the maximum points for each of the reporting areas carried out through the Environmental Protection Agency (AMMK), namely for the reporting of annual air quality data, online reporting of air quality data, reporting on air emissions, reporting on greenhouse gases, reporting on protected areas, reporting on water quality, and reporting on water quantities.

This success has been achieved thanks to the work and dedication of the AMMK experts and cooperation with other monitoring institutions at the national level, as well as support from donors through various projects.

At the same time, this achievement also demonstrates AMMK's commitment to fulfilling its obligations under the cooperation program with the European Environment Agency (EEA), with the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET), and in the process of European integration.
