Two officials from AMMK, engaged as water monitoring experts within the framework of the Integrated Water Resources Management Program in Kosovo, Andonita Buçinca and Donika Peja Zagragja, have gained advanced experiences and training at the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of Milan.
Within this training course, under the supervision of Professor Beretta Lab, they actively participated in modern research projects, gaining expertise from laboratory work and using various analytical techniques in the water sector related to projects on microplastic pollution and its health effects.
Their experience in these research fields will enable AMMK to implement scientific research projects in the water sector focused on micro-particle pollution in the future.
This training course is made possible by the project “Nanoparticles in Environmental and Medical Research - NanoKos” funded by EuropeAid, which promotes academic excellence and collaborative research and aims to increase the research and innovative capacity of Kosovo.
The #NanoKos project, whose main goal is to increase collaborations and connections between research institutions in Kosovo and European research institutions, is implemented by the University of Pristina in cooperation with the Royal College of London, the University of Milan, and the University of Parma, while the partner and beneficiary of the project is also the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, specifically the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute.
