The Post of Kosovo, in cooperation with the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, has launched the newest issue of postage stamps dedicated to natural monuments with speleological characteristics: Kusari Cave, "Gryka e Madhe" Cave, Hoxha Cave, and Dema Cave.

This issue presents a rich visual journey through the underground treasures of our country – rare evidence of our geology, archaeology, biodiversity, and ancient history. Through these stamps, the public has the opportunity to become familiar with the extraordinary natural and cultural values that Kosovo offers.

Kusari Cave, located near the ancient village of Kusar in the Gjakova region, is part of the karst landscape of Mount Pashtrik. Formed in limestone rocks with a millennia-old history, the cave bears traces of early habitation and offers a unique environment for researchers and visitors.

The "Great Gorge" Cave, located at the eighth kilometer of the Rugova Gorge, 60 meters above the bed of the Lumëbardh of Peja, offers an impressive view resembling a natural temple. Inside it are magnificent stalactites and stalagmites, underground rivers and lakes, ranking this cave among the largest in Kosovo and the region in terms of speleological and tourist value.

The Hoxha Cave, above the village of Vrellë in Istog, in the Mokna mountain massif, represents an archaeological site of great importance. It has been inhabited from prehistoric times up to modern times. Its interior preserves ceramic fragments, worked stones, and an internal lake, formed by the continuous dripping of stalactites.

The Cave of the Buffalo, which is located at the entrance of the Rugova Gorge, near the Peja Patriarchate, is distinguished for its historical and biological values. As an archaeological site, this cave symbolizes the enduring connection between humans and nature, preserving traces of human resilience through the centuries. Through this special broadcast, the Kosovo Post and IKMN aim to promote and raise awareness for the protection of Kosovo's natural and cultural heritage. Postage stamps serve not only as a means of communication but also as ambassadors of our national values worldwide.
