In Tetovo, North Macedonia, a forum on good governance and inter-institutional cooperation in protected areas in North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania was held, which brought together representatives of central and local institutions, National Park Directorates, representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations from the respective countries, and international experts in the field of nature protection.
Part of this forum from Kosovo were also representatives of the MAJK, the Directorate for the Administration of Sharri National Park, and those of CNVP Kosovo.
The Director of the Directorate for the Administration of the Sharr National Park, Mr. Bajram Kafexholli, was part of the discussion on the panel about the challenges of good governance and inter-institutional cooperation. Among other things, he shared experiences regarding the main challenges and problems currently faced by the Sharr National Park in terms of conservation, management, and community engagement. Kafexholli also spoke about cooperation with local, regional, and international institutions to address these challenges, and the impact of this cooperation on the improvement of management and biodiversity conservation. Other topics discussed at this forum included successful models of inter-institutional cooperation for nature protection, as well as functional solutions and good practices of inter-institutional cooperation.
