The European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET), as part of the European Environment Agency (EEA), has conducted the assessment of the fulfillment of reporting obligations for the year 2024. Kosovo, together with 3 other countries Austria, Luxembourg, and Serbia, have managed to fulfill 100% of the reporting obligations within the framework of the core data flow for the year 2024.
Nine other countries (Cyprus, North Macedonia, Croatia, Hungary, Sweden, Slovakia, Ireland, France, and Italy) managed to fulfill the reporting obligations at a level of 90% or higher.
One of the main performance indicators defined in the EEA-Eionet Strategy 2021-2030 is achieving an overall average data flow result of at least 90%. According to the assessment for 2024, this target has not been fully achieved, with the overall average reporting performance at 88% for the 27 EU countries and 87% for all EEA countries and cooperating countries. As part of this year's assessment, Kosovo has received the maximum points for all mandatory reporting fields carried out through the Environmental Protection Agency (AMMK), which include annual reporting on air quality, online reporting of air quality data, reporting on air emissions, reporting on greenhouse gases, reporting on protected areas, reporting on water quality, and reporting on water quantity.
This success, achieved for the fourth consecutive year, is the result of the work and dedication of AMMK experts and cooperation with other monitoring institutions at the national level, as well as support from donors through various projects.
This achievement also demonstrates AMMK's commitment to fulfilling its obligations under the cooperation program with the European Environment Agency (EEA), with the European Environment Information and Observation Network (EIONET), and in the process of European integration.
