Education on climate change

16 September 2025

The Memorandum of Understanding for the development of the education program on climate change is signed between the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure (MMPHI) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MASHTI), represented by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency for the Republic of Kosovo, and the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Education represented by the Ministry for Regional Cooperation for the State of Israel.

Considering that the State of Israel is among the leading countries in integrating climate change adaptation into the school curriculum and in implementing concrete projects for water security, this long-term cooperation aims to bring tangible results for MMPHI and MASHTI, in accordance with the Climate Change Law of the Republic of Kosovo.

The goal is for primary school students to be inspired and prepared to become the engineers and professionals of the future, who will help build a Kosovo that is resilient to climate change: through projects such as building water dams, new energy capacities, and preparation for floods and droughts. Israel offers significant experience in building sustainable infrastructure, and this cooperation will be a good opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and practices.
