26 August 2010

Organized by AKMM and with the support of the CBEI Project, the training course "Air Quality Monitoring Network" was held.

Representatives from the Department of Environmental Protection of the MMPH, the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo, the Institute of Public Health, representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunication, and representatives from the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Mathematical-Natural Sciences participated in this training course.

The purpose of this training course was to make a preliminary assessment of the air condition and to design the air quality monitoring network. Considering that Kosovo still does not have a fully developed air quality monitoring network, this training course is a concrete initiative for laying the foundations of the air quality monitoring system in Kosovo.

The training was led by environmental expert Cornel Flores Gabriell, a UNDP consultant, for the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency.
