The CEO of AMMK participates in the annual meeting of the network of Heads of Environmental Agencies in Europe

03.04.2012 - The Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency (KEPA), Dr. Sc Ilir Morina, is participating in the annual meeting of the Network of Heads of European Environmental Agencies, which is being held in London. The CEO of KEPA is representing Kosovo for the first time at a meeting of this kind, which is being held at the level of leaders of similar agencies in Europe. On this occasion, Dr. Sci. Ilir Morina said: This is the first time that Kosovo is being represented in the EPA Network, which also marks an achievement for our country in this important sector for European integration. Participation in this network will enable the exchange of experiences, reports, and information with all member agencies of this network, with the aim of jointly coordinating activities for environmental reforms in accordance with current legislation and EU directives.

At the London meeting, participants discussed in particular the impact of noise; sources; adaptation to climate change; international cooperation and the green economy. At the meeting, the action plan for biodiversity, ecosystem services, and other important aspects for environmental protection were also presented. Ilir Morina, meanwhile, has had special meetings with the heads of the environmental agencies of the Czech Republic - Jiri Hradec, Austria - George Rebernig, Estonia - Leo Saare, Switzerland - Gerard Poffet, and several other participating countries. During these meetings, commitments were made for mutual cooperation between AMMK and the agencies of the aforementioned countries, while Dr. Sci. Ilir Morina was also invited by his counterparts to visit the agencies of these countries to initiate concrete cooperation.
