18/04/2013 - The representatives of the project Dinaric Arc Parks, after completing their expedition in the countries included in the project, during which they also visited Kosovo, were left amazed by the project's results so far and by the rare natural values contained in the Dinaric Arc region. Through a statement distributed to the media, it is also said: The largest canyon in the world after the Colorado River canyon, the largest and oldest rainforests in Europe where no human foot has yet stepped, meadows with orchid species that all of the United Kingdom has, the largest underground vertical in the world, the largest and longest gorge in Europe ... All of this is hidden in the Dinaric Arc region!
Further in the announcement it is assessed that: recognizing the indescribable beauty of the region, its cultural diversity, and at the same time the incredible similarity, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has connected natural and national parks from Slovenia to Albania in the Dinaric Parks network. Our region, with its unique biodiversity wealth, deserves to stand alongside the most famous tourist destinations in the world, while the network of 75 parks, which, through the initiative of the Dinaric Arc Parks, finds a path for sustainable tourism, is an ideal start. There are few places in the world where in one day you can see stunning wetlands, amazing discovered caves, and swim under a magnificent waterfall. Few regions exist where with one tank of fuel you can cross four countries, encounter different cultures, and experience the greatest pleasures.
from the kitchen.
Inspired by all these amazing facts, the project has also launched a media campaign to promote the Dinaric Parks brand, which can be found in a large number of newspapers, online portals, and on many television stations throughout the region.
The main goal of the Dinaric Arc Parks project is to create a platform for protected areas in the region through the networking of parks, study visits, and the exchange of experiences. Joint training has been conducted on the topic of EU integration, sustainable tourism, and climate change, and for the first time at the regional level, an assessment of the benefits from protected areas is also being carried out.
The Dinaric Arc, with its beauties, geographical spread, and biodiversity, is not behind the Carpathians, the Alps, or any other world-renowned ecoregion. The project activities will help enhance cooperation with the private sector and improve daily activities through the exchange of experiences and best practices. Kosovo is involved in this project with two National Parks, Sharri and Bjeshkët e Nemuna, and two Nature Parks, Mirusha and Gërmia.
