24/04/2013 - The CEO of AMMK, Ilir Morina, is representing Kosovo within the framework of the 7th Forum on Environmentally Sustainable Transport in Asia and the Global Consultations on Sustainable Transport in Post-2015 Development Agendas. This important environmental event with an international character is organized by the United Nations Centre for Regional Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment of Japan and the Ministry of Transport of Indonesia. The main purpose of the forum is to focus on the issue of how future generations will be able to build the vision of sustainable transport in the 21st Century, taking into account environmental protection requirements, social needs, and economic development trends.

The forum is being held in Bali, Indonesia (23-25 April), and three of the central discussion topics are:

-How can Asian countries improve their policies for environmentally sustainable transport in harmony with the objectives of the United Nations RIO+20 Conference?

-Why is a long-term vision necessary for reducing pollution and accidents from transport for Asian countries?

-How effective will the implementation of the goals from the 2020 Bangkok Declaration on sustainable transport be?

During participation in this Forum, the CEO of AMMK held separate meetings with representatives of various institutions from Asian countries such as Mongolia, Indonesia, and Malaysia, with whom he discussed opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of experiences, with a particular emphasis on environmental protection as well as economic development and diplomatic support.

It is worth noting that at the main table of representation of the participating states in the Forum, Kosovo was treated equally with all the other participating countries and its symbols were placed alongside those of the other states.
