05.09.2013 - The Executive Director of the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Ilir Morina, met today with the Director of the Executive Environment Agency of Bulgaria, Dr. Eng. Vanya Grigorova, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the Management Board of the European Environment Agency.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency and the Bulgarian Executive Environment Agency in the environmental protection sector, focusing on the implementation of joint projects in the areas of pollution prevention and integrated control, the air sector, and waste management. Also, possibilities for support in the reporting process to the European Environment Agency (EEA) and the European Network for Monitoring and Observation (EIONET) were reviewed.
During the meeting, other possibilities for cooperation in the field of environmental protection and climate change were also discussed, and some ideas and proposals for possible projects that could be implemented in the future were exchanged. The signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two agencies is one of the initiatives expected to pave the way for more concrete cooperation.
The topic of the meeting was also the assistance that the Executive Environment Agency of Bulgaria can provide in organizing the 24th meeting of the European Network of Heads of European Environment Agencies (EPA Network), which will be held next year in Kosovo and will be organized by AMMK.
