27/11/2013 - The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Dardan Gashi, and the French Ambassador to Kosovo, Maryse Daviet, accompanied by their associates, visited the natural monument of special importance, Gadime Cave. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the condition of the cave and the possibilities of investment by the French government in the future in this protected natural monument.

This was the first visit carried out to the Gadime Cave since the decision of the Minister of MESP to temporarily close it. The decision was made due to unauthorized activities that were endangering the characteristics and values of this national treasure. The temporary closure was established as a general measure for the protection of the monument.

The Marble Cave in Lower Gadime is one of the most beautiful caves not only in Kosovo but also in the Balkans and beyond. In the Gadime Cave, all types of formations characteristic of caves are present. Mostly, there are stalagmites and stalactites that appear throughout the cave, in different shapes and sizes.

The Gadime Cave was placed under protection immediately after its discovery on July 29, 1969. In 1982, a decision was made to protect the Cave as a geomonument with special natural values. In 2009, by a decision of the Government of Kosovo (decision no. 04/57), the Gadime Cave was placed under protection as a Nature Monument of special importance.
