12.03.2015 - The Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo-IHMK has received confirmation from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute, which represents the Operational Center of the European Flood Awareness System, EFAS, for acceptance into this network of organizations.
Previously, the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo and the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute had signed a document which defines the conditions of participation in this organization.
Typically, the members of this network are national organizations and authorities from European countries that have the responsibility to provide services and information for flood risk management.
By signing these terms, IHMK, as the national representative of Kosovo for providing information from the hydrology sector, commits to providing information and forecasts for floods in Kosovo also to the European Flood Awareness System, EFAS. Being part of this organization will offer IHMK the opportunity to exchange information and benefit from experiences, as well as participate in trainings and other activities organized by EFAS. Information on data, services, data processing, forecasts and flood warnings, as well as other information regarding the work and activities of the European Flood Awareness System, can be obtained on the information system of this organization www.efas.eu
