The Management Plan of the "Sharri" National Park is approved

18 March 2015

An important part of the plan is the assessment of the key values of the protected area and the threats it faces, with a focus on the main issues affecting the management, administration, and financing of Sharri National Park.

The document provides an outline of the general approaches needed to restore ecological balance in the area, to preserve its values, and to address the threats, with participation and support from all stakeholder groups. It also contains management measures that include detailed action plans needed to implement all programs and sub-programs for the first five years of implementation.

The plan has been prepared with support from the UNDP project on 'Sustainable Land Management and Biodiversity Conservation in the Municipality of Dragash', and its drafting is based on the guidelines prepared by the EU Twinning Project Support for Sustainable Forest Management, implemented through the MoAP and MoFNR.

As part of the process for the finalization of this plan, meetings, consultations, workshops, debates, and public discussions have been organized. The process was led by the Working Group established within the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
