16.12.2015 - Officials of the Directorate for the Administration of Sharr National Park, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police and the Inspectorate of the MAFRD, today in Shtërpcë have opened the Directorate's office for this part of the Park. From today, this office will be administered by the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, specifically by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency through the Directorate of Sharr National Park, and it will also have control and supervision over this part of the protected area.
The opening of the office was preceded by a decision of the Basic Court of Ferizaj-Strpce Branch, which a few weeks ago imposed house arrest and a prohibition to approach the place or the headquarters where they carried out activities, on six suspects from the Municipality of Shtërpca, members of the parallel directorate in this municipality, who are charged with the criminal offenses of forest destruction under Article 357, paragraph 2, and forest theft under Article 358, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
