22.12.2015- The Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, within the framework of activities to fulfill the tasks and responsibilities it has for reporting on the state of environmental sectors, has prepared a special report for the water sector. The report contains information on the overall state of water in Kosovo, primarily focused on the period 2011-2014.
This is the second sectoral report on the state of water in the Republic of Kosovo prepared by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency. Its preparation has also been supported by other sectors of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and especially by the Water Department.
The data for the preparation of the report has been collected from institutions that monitor water quality, companies that manage water, as well as other governmental and non-governmental institutions that have certain responsibilities in the water sector. The Report also includes data on water laws and regulations, strategic documents on water, as well as data from projects and donors in this field. Some of the data presented in this Report has also been taken from various relevant publications and reports.
AMMK believes that this report will be a modest contribution, not only for informing about the state of water in Kosovo but also as a document that will serve policymakers in implementing sustainable policies in the water sector and donors in guiding necessary projects.
