07.03.2016 - According to the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute, based on data from the European Flood Awareness System (EFAS), it is forecast that Kosovo, starting from 07/03/2016 after 03:00 a.m., will be affected by rainfall, beginning initially in the north-western part of the country, and then covering the entire country.
The amount of rainfall is expected to be around 15-20 mm within 6 hours, reaching its maximum around the afternoon hours. This situation will continue with increased intensity, approximately 30 mm (lm2) within 6 hours. Such a condition is expected to last until after midnight on 08/03/2016, when the rainfall is also expected to stop.
From these rains, the water level in rivers, especially those with a mountainous character, is expected to be more vigorous and faster, which will initially cause floods as well as landslides, with sensitivity for the affected and more exposed areas: very high 65%, high 19%, medium 16%.
