27.10.2016 - Representatives of Environmental Agencies and other relevant institutions from most European countries are participating in the meeting. In the opening part of this meeting, the main activities carried out by the network between the two meetings were discussed, including the exchange of experiences with the European Commission and the European Environment Agency. Within the framework of the thematic sessions, the focus of today's meeting was on topics related to the green economy, food waste, and organic food. Tomorrow, topics related to sustainable transport are expected to be discussed.
Part of this meeting was also a special meeting of the Interest Group for the Western Balkan countries, which operates within the framework of the EPA, where the group's activities to date were discussed and experiences from the meeting and from projects involving the Environmental Agencies of the Balkan countries were exchanged, such as those on climate change, activities within the ECRAN program, those from the energy and environment community, and other events. In this meeting, the work done in finalizing projects initiated by the Interest Group for the Western Balkan countries was also discussed. These proposed projects and other projects that include the sectors of climate change, air, waste, water, and biodiversity will be supported by the European Environment Agency and by other donors active in the Balkan region.
