13.12.2016 - The air quality situation in Prishtina is improving.
Based on measurements conducted by the Hydrometeorological Institute of Kosovo, from the analysis of results obtained from automatic air quality monitoring, it is observed that during the last two days there have been no exceedances of the daily limit values for PM10. The daily limit value allowed for the protection of human health is 50 µg/m³, while during these days the maximum daily value was recorded on 12.12.2016, reaching 44.6 µg/m³, which is within the allowed limit for the daily average value, as also observed from the following chart. From 20:00, a drastic decrease in the concentration of PM10 and PM2.5 is noted, which is a result of the change in meteorological conditions since from 20:00 the air movement speed has increased and created favorable conditions for the dispersion of the emitted pollutant.
Lower concentrations are presented with the PM2.5 pollutant which reached the maximum value on the same day and at the same location, reaching a value of 38.8 µg/m3. For more, the full report from IHMK
