03.04.2017 - As part of activities for monitoring protected areas and inventorying biodiversity, the Institute for Nature Protection, on 27.03.2017 carried out a field visit in the Junik region, within the framework of the Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Park. On this occasion, the trap camera that had been placed some time ago in the area believed to be a possible movement zone for a large number of wild animals, especially the lynx (Lynx lynx) as well as the species it feeds on, was retrieved. After checking the cameras, it was found that the mammal species photographed included: Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus), Fox (Vulpes vulpes), Wolf (Canis lupus), Brown Bear (Ursus arctos), Hare (Lepus europaeus), Badger (Meles meles), etc.
From the presence of a considerable number of them, the relatively good condition of the fauna in this part of the park could be observed (photo).
Several such cameras have been placed for quite some time in different parts of the Sharri and Bjeshkët e Nemuna National Parks, with the sole purpose of monitoring the condition of the fauna and the presence of various species of wild animals.
So far, these cameras have provided reliable data on the presence of different species of wild animals in these protected areas.
