13.07.2017 - The high temperatures that have been recorded in recent days in our country have significantly increased the possibility of fires spreading in forests, including forests in the National Parks.
In order to prevent the occurrence and spread of fires, MMPH/AMMK, through the Directorate for the Administration of Sharri NP and the Directorate for the Administration of Bjeshkët e Nemuna NP, has increased vigilance, readiness, control, and monitoring of the Parks' territory.
To manage this situation more efficiently, the level of cooperation with all relevant bodies has also been increased, such as emergency units in the respective municipalities, fire brigade units, Kosovo Police, and other institutions.
On this occasion, we appeal to all citizens of Kosovo and especially to visitors, residents of park areas, property users, and other citizens to exercise maximum caution in preventing the occurrence of fires and their spread within the park territories.
We also inform you that based on the Regulation on the Internal Order of National Parks No. 21/2013, “lighting fires outside settlements is prohibited, and in cases of fire lighting, responsible persons will be sanctioned.”
We request from all of you that if you see any potential fire in the National Parks, you report it to the respective Directorates.
