12.04.2018 - The CEO of AMMK, Ilir Morina, is participating in the 30th Plenary Conference of the EPA Network of Directors of European Agencies, being held in Dublin, Ireland.
The purpose of this meeting is to continue important environmental discussions for European countries, including those of the Balkans. The main topics being addressed at the meeting are: how to better communicate science to people and citizen science as a mechanism to raise awareness among people about their behavior towards the environment.
On the first day of the meeting, there were discussions regarding the update of environmental policies according to the EU, the current and future priorities of environmental policies from the European Commission and the member states. There was also discussion about the update of the priorities of the European Environment Agency, including commitments to global processes, as well as issues related to the scientific communication of achievements in the environmental sector. The first day concluded with discussions of the interest groups and the roles and mandate of the EPA network.
On the second day of the meeting, discussions and presentations are planned on various topics including updates on the citizen science project on air quality, engagement, motivation and retention of citizens, and creating evidence for practice and policy, presentation of the Citizen Science project on water and lake quality drawn from the experience of Finland, and presentation of other Citizen Science projects from the experience of Estonia.
