04.06.2018- Within the framework of implementing the work plan for the year 2018, the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, in cooperation with the Municipality of Deçan, has started the process of identifying natural values within the territory of this municipality. On this occasion, during field visits, natural values with the following characteristics will be identified: geological, geomorphological, speleological, hydrological, botanical, etc., which will then, based on their specific values, be proposed for protection to the Municipal Assembly of Deçan - Preliminary list of natural monuments.
After approval by the Municipal Assembly, the Institute will continue the study of the values by preparing individual reports for all natural values approved by the Municipal Assembly of Deçan.
On this occasion, the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, in addition to cooperating with the municipality of Deçan, also seeks support from citizens who can make their proposals for the above-mentioned natural values to be institutionally protected.
So far, in the territory of the municipality of Deçan, in addition to the National Park “Bjeshkët e Nemuna”, the protected natural monuments are: the Linden Tree (Tilia argentea) - Isniq (1968) and the complex of linden trees (Tilia argentea) - Isniq (1968).
