04.06.2018- In Tetovo, Macedonia, the closing meeting of the project of the Regional Open Fund for Southeast Europe - Biodiversity OBF-BD, for the formation of the Joint Cross-Border Advisory Body for the Sharr-Korab-Koritnik Region, was held. Representatives of the Directorate for the Administration of the “Sharri” National Park also participated in the meeting, as part of the project. This project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Within the framework of this event, the members of the Joint Advisory Body from the three countries signed an important Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of the Joint Cross-Border Advisory Council. This advisory body aims to improve the establishment of a joint cooperation mechanism regarding the tri-national protection areas of Sharr-Korab-Koritnik covering Albania, Kosovo, and North Macedonia. Within the framework of this event, the members of this Board also held the first meeting with local interest groups from the three countries. During this meeting, the status of the Advisory Board as well as the work plan were presented. After the presentation of the status, approval was also given, while the work plan will be supplemented with activities and timelines for the execution of these activities.
