09.08.2018 - The Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection during 2018 carried out a study of natural values in the territory of the municipality of Obiliq. During the field work, the Institute's teams, in cooperation with officials for the environment of the Municipality of Obiliq, identified for protection the natural values: the oak trees in Sibofc, the hawthorn tree in Sibofc, the mineral water spring in Upper Grabovc, and the maple tree in Mazgit, which together with the prepared studies have been submitted for approval to the municipal assembly of Obiliq.
The municipal assembly of Obiliq, in the meeting held on 31.07.2018, decided to approve the protection of natural values in the territory of the municipality of Obiliq by adding four new objects to the list of natural values of Kosovo and by expanding the list of protected areas of Kosovo to 188 protected areas of different categories.
