Since we are in the season when air quality limit exceedances are more frequent and the interest of the media and the public in obtaining information about these exceedances is increasing, the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency informs you about the possibilities of accessing air quality data.
As previously announced by the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, it has launched the online reporting system for air quality results monitored by the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute, through which accurate and real-time information on air quality in several municipalities of Kosovo is provided to the public.
The software for reporting air quality data is compatible with the Air Quality Index in Europe and presents monitoring data of the 5 main pollutants at 8 air quality monitoring stations.
The real-time air quality data system can be accessed by clicking directly on the link to the air quality data system on the website of the Hydro-Meteorological Institute of Kosovo http://ihmk-rks.com/t/?page=1,5 and through the website of the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency http://ammk-rks.net/.
The completion of the software was supported by the European Commission. Investments in improving the system for monitoring and reporting air quality will continue with additional support from the U.S. Government through the Millennium Challenge Corporation Program and from the Japanese Government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
AMMK will continue to provide information and reporting on air quality through monthly reports, periodic and annual reports and assessments, as well as through additional information to the public in cases of exceeding alarm thresholds for certain parameters as stipulated by law.
