The information threshold for air pollution

14 November 2018

14.11.2018- The Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, based on Articles 24 and 25 of the Law on Air Protection from Pollution (No.03/L-160) regarding public information on air quality, and based on the Administrative Instruction on Air Quality Standards (AI 02/2011), specifically in Annex VIII which also provides the information thresholds for PM10 and other pollutants for the 24-hour period, informs the general public that during the last 24 hours there have been exceedances of the Maximum Permitted Values for PM10 at several measurement locations and, as a result, air quality has been poor.

Specifically, AMMK informs that the information threshold for the PM10 parameter (100 µg/m³ over 24 hours), established according to Annex VIII of the Administrative Instruction on Air Quality Standards, has been exceeded at the measuring stations in Drenas, Prishtina (IHMK), Obiliq, and Gjilan, while at the measuring stations in Mitrovica and Han i Elezit it has been within the information threshold limits.

AMMK also informs you that real-time data on air quality for 5 pollutants (PM10, PM2.5, SOx, NOx, and O3) at 8 air quality monitoring stations can be found on the websites of AMMK and IHMK (http://ihmk-rks.com/t/?page=1,21), data which are compatible with the European Air Quality Index as defined by the European Environment Agency.

On the AMMK and MMPH websites, you will also find the Guide for Protection from Air Pollution depending on the pollution levels (http://ammk-rks.net/repository/docs/Udhezues_-_Mbrojtja_nga_Ndotja_e_Ajrit_(OK).pdf).
