14.06.2021- This report has been prepared within the framework of AMMK activities carried out as part of the project for the cadastre of hazardous waste and chemicals, implemented during the period 2019-2020.
The preparation of this report is based on the requirements of Law No. 04/L-197 on Chemicals, which specifies that MMPHI maintains the general register of chemicals, in written and electronic form. Chemicals that are produced, imported, marketed, and stored must be registered in this register through regular reporting by operators who import, produce, market, and use these chemicals.
Similarly, according to the Waste Law, it is required that: licensed persons involved in waste management, including producers, holders, exporters, and recyclers, must submit an annual report specifying the data of the waste they manage or hold.
This report, among other things, includes data on: the trade name of the chemical and the name according to IUPAC nomenclature, other identifying names of the chemicals, data on the quantity of chemicals placed on the market, data on the way the chemicals are used, data on chemical composition, classification and labeling of chemicals, notes on the physicochemical properties of the chemical, notes on the effects of the chemical on the environment, possible ways of converting hazardous substances into non-hazardous ones, notes on the purity level and the content of hazardous additives in the substance, whether they are hazardous, and whether it is necessary for the classification and labeling of hazardous chemicals.
The report on the cadastre of hazardous waste and chemicals also provides data on the hazardous properties of these substances, physical properties, environmental licenses for the management of hazardous waste, licenses for the transportation and treatment of hazardous waste, etc.
Within this report, an assessment of the current situation has also been made, identifying achievements, problems, and obstacles in the preparation of the consolidated register of hazardous waste and chemicals, as well as recommendations for improving the situation and the next steps.
