24 June 2021
23.06.2021 - According to the forecast of the Hydro-Meteorological Institute of Kosovo / AMMK-MMPHI, these two days will have moderate and very hot weather.
This meteorological situation occurs due to the hot air masses coming from the northern part of Africa.
The UV index will remain very high, and it is recommended to follow the advice of the IKSHP, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight from 09:00-17:00.
Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 16-18 degrees Celsius, while the daily maximums are expected to range between 35-37 degrees Celsius.
High temperatures in the summer season, besides their negative effects on human health, also increase the likelihood of the spread of fires in the forests, including the forests in the National Parks.
With the aim of preventing the occurrence and spread of fires, MMPHI/AMMK, through the Directorate for the Management of "Sharri" National Park and the Directorate for the Management of "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park, has increased vigilance, readiness, control, and monitoring of the park territories. To manage this situation more efficiently, the level of cooperation with all relevant authorities has also been increased. On this occasion, we appeal to all citizens of Kosovo, and especially to visitors, residents of park areas, land users, and other citizens, to exercise maximum caution in preventing the occurrence and spread of fires within the park territories. We also inform you that, based on Law No. 03/L-233 on Nature Protection, punitive provisions are foreseen for the lighting of fires.
We ask all of you, in case you see any possible fire ignition in National Parks, to report it to the contact numbers of the respective Directorates:
The Directorate of the National Park “Bjeshkët e Nemuna” are: 048 222 718 and 044 155 735; and
