02 September 2021 02.09.2021 - Within the framework of implementing the work plan for the year 2021, the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection, in cooperation with the municipality of Deçan, carried out a study of the natural values that had previously been identified in the territory of this municipality. After preparing the respective reports for all natural heritage objects in the territory of the municipality, they were submitted for approval to the Municipal Assembly of Deçan, which on 03.08.2021 issued (18) decisions for their protection. With the issuance of these decisions, these natural heritage objects of the municipality were added to the register of protected areas of Kosovo, maintained by the Institute for Nature Protection.
Previously, in the territory of the municipality of Deçan, the status of natural protected areas, besides the National Park “Bjeshkët e Nemuna,” part of which extends into this municipality, was also held by the Linden tree (Tilia argentea) in Isniq (1968) and the complex of linden trees (Tilia argentea) also in Isniq (1968).
