22.11.2021 - At the invitation of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, a roundtable was organized today in Ferizaj on the topic: Legal procedures in cases of the criminal offense of forest theft.
Representatives from the Kosovo Environmental Protection Agency, namely the Directorate for the Administration of the “Sharri” National Park, also participated in the roundtable.
Other participants in the roundtable included representatives from the main institutions dealing with this issue in the Ferizaj region, including Judges, Prosecutors, the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Forestry Agency, and representatives from the respective municipal directorates.
Among other things, it was assessed that increasing inter-institutional cooperation between central and local institutions is one of the steps that should be undertaken in the future to prevent the criminal acts of forest theft.
