01.12.2021 - As part of the regular activities for monitoring and inventorying biodiversity in protected natural areas, the Kosovo Institute for Nature Protection - KINP has also continued in 2021 to carry out the activity of monitoring wildlife through the placement of trap cameras in protected natural areas, with a special focus on the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park.
As part of this activity, KINP also cooperates with local Environmental Non-Governmental Organizations. Such cooperation is being successfully carried out with the NGO "ERA" from Peja, which is monitoring the fauna within the protected area of the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park, at several locations within the park.
From this monitoring, data have been secured on the presence of some rare types of fauna in the territory of the "Bjeshkët e Nemuna" National Park, such as the Lynx (Lynx lynx), the Bear (Ursus arctos), the Chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra), and the Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus).
